 Country: Hong Kong
 Birth date: 11th, October
 Occupation : Singer, Actress

What did you want to be when you were growing up?
I grew up in a poor family. When I was young my dream was just to find a stable job so I could help keep my family well fed and warm.
Who was your biggest influence?
Actually my biggest motivation comes from people that try to hurt me or put me down.  I use their negativity to push myself to improve and overcome obstacles they try to put in my way. There’s a famous saying that goes: “What doesn’t kill you, only makes you stronger!”
What do you think is the biggest issue facing women in your industry today?
We have more females than males in our industry, so it’s very competitive for roles for women. Unfortunately, this has led people to be very negative and unfriendly.
Why do you think it’s important to have an International Women’s Day?
It’s a chance to celebrate being a woman and all that we’ve come through. It reminds us of how much further there still is to go. Women need to be mentally, physically, and emotionally tough.  It reminds us to be educated and depend on ourselves.  It also reminds us to fight for violence against women.

What did you want to be when you were growing up?
I always loved the stage. So I knew from an early age that I wanted to be an entertainer. One thing that always stuck to the back of my mind was that I wanted to be a singer. I never really knew I could ever even make it this far.
Who was your biggest influence?
I have many women to thank in my life who have done nothing less than inspire me. These women are not just the average mothers, heroines, or artists that I so look up to. Some of these women have names I don’t remember or faces I can’t recall. I believe that everything happens for a reason, and everyone that crosses our path has a role.
But the women that have made the biggest impact in my life are: my mother, my father’s ex-wife, Lady Gaga, Anggun, Dewi Sandra, and my best friends.
What do you think is the biggest issue facing women in your industry today?
I believe that we all have issues and that rests with each individual’s character. Some of us are sell-outs, focused on what we want from the industry and influenced by the business side of it all. While some of us choose to leave our old selves behind to turn into this new character that is “recommended” to us. The problem is, some of us are not strong enough for that and end up cracking under the spotlight.
Why do you think it’s important to have an International Women’s Day?
International Women’s Day is about respect, appreciation, and love to all women – especially the ‘working woman’. It’s a celebration of our economic, political, and social achievements.
While we have come a long way from how we were treated in the past – I believe even to this day, many of us are still undermined. The biggest reason we should have, and continue to have International Women’s Day, is to inspire. Women need to help each other believe in ourselves, and remind ourselves that we are not less.

What did you want to be when you were growing up?
I wanted to be a lawyer just like my father. I’m hoping that I am able to succeed in realizing that dream one day.
Who was your biggest influence?
My father was the biggest influence in my life.
What do you think is the biggest issue facing women in your industry today?
In today’s society, while it is common to see men hold important positions in almost every occupation, it would be a surprise for a woman to have a good job or land a high position in an organization.
I believe that in the work place, men should respect and help women without any self-interest. I think women are doing a great job, but we still have some ways to go.
Why do you think it’s important to have an International Women’s Day?
International Women’s Day should not only be for one day, it should be everyday – it is important that women should be respected and appreciated for her contributions.

My biggest influence is my mom. She’s a working woman, and I have always wanted to be like her.
What do you think is the biggest issue facing women in your industry today?
I think the biggest issue women in the industry are facing is self-esteem. I think women are too affected by other people, and must learn how to take it head on and maintain their self-esteem.
Why do you think it’s important to have an International Women’s Day?
On International Women’s Day, we celebrate the inspiring and courageous
working women around the world that are doing their bid to secure women’s rights. We should remember the many women whose voices go unheard and who continue to be excluded from realizing their full potential.

migWoman 2014 Stories
What did you want to be when you were growing up?
I want to always stay true to myself, for my family, and for the people around me
Who was your biggest influence?
My mother is definitely my biggest influence – she is the strongest woman that I’ve ever seen. Raising 5 kids on her own, she worked hard so that her children can have a better life. She was my best example and inspiration; she made me a brave and strong person.
What do you think is the biggest issue facing women in your industry today?
The biggest issue is gender equality. Women need to be given the same opportunities as men in the professional world. I believe that a woman can be a wife, a mother, a friend and a boss – they just need the chance.
Why do you think it’s important to have an International Women’s Day?
It’s important because not all women are aware of their rights. There are many things that are unjust, that are happening to women around the world, but they do not have the power to change it. Perhaps in their minds, women do not have any other choice but to accept their fate. By hearing other success stories these women can be inspired and start a change for themselves.
