Movember comes to mig

Posted on Oct 29, 2014

Having a little tuft on your chin or upper lip can make or break your look. But the good news is, there is a variety of facial hair styles for you to experiment with. Mustache, goatee, soul-patch, and the list goes on. But it's time-consuming to keep facial hair in check daily, so most men choose to do away with this hassle.

However, in the month of November, the Movember movement calls for guys across the globe to stop shaving (their faces) for the whole month. Movember is a portmanteau of “Moustache” and “November”, and was started by the Movember Foundation in 2004 in efforts to raise awareness for prostate cancer and other male cancers.

The Movember Foundation aims to increase early detection, diagnosis and treatment of cancer in men by encouraging them to be aware of their family history of cancer, and to go for regular check-ups.

Check out this video commercial for Movember.

Some of the us here at mig will be joining the movement. And we challenge you to join us—and win a prize in the process!

The battle of the miggiest mustache

It’s simple. Take a selfie every day starting from November 1st, 2014. Chronicle the growth of your facial hair everyday until the end of November and post them on your miniblog with the #migvember hashtag.

Rule Number 1: Start fresh
Rule  Number 2: No shaving or trimming
Rule Number 3: One selfie every day

On November 30th, we will pick one of our favorite migvember participants and give him a special migvember mug!
