How to show hidden files on external hard drive

Problem Question:
I have problem in my Computer . I am using Windows Vista, Windows 7, 8  XP SP2.
The problem is that i don't know what type of threat came in my PC through net or external drive. it hides all my folders of only external hard drive. whenever I open the external hard drive i cant see anything but when i see properties of that drive it shows data. If i know the name of folder like my picture when i type it in address bar I:\my picture then it open n show my data. how to remove this prob?
what type of virus is this?I have tried to scan the external hard drive using kaspersky internet security but i cant see them. plz help me if any body know this.

Try this 1.

May be the files are in hidden mode.

Click on "Start" -->Run-->type cmd and click on OK.

Here I assume your external hard drive as G:

Enter this command.

attrib -h -r -s /s /d g:\*.*

You can copy the above command --> Right-click in the Command Prompt and

paste it.

Note : Don't forget to replace the letter g with your external hard drive letter.

Now press "Enter".

Now check for your files in external hard drive.

Hidden files and folder Cannot Show

Problem: in my computer when i apply show hidden files and folder it wont show my folder and autmatically the radio button is selected to the do not show hidden files and folder. how can i fix this problem?? plx help



Solved: Hi,

use any antivirus to remove the virus firs.

( this virus change regedit value to "0" or delete the DWORD key thats only wen u change the folder view option dost show the hidden folder and files.)
----------------------------------------------

1. go to run(winkey+R).
2. type regedit.
3. go that path:- HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\
Advanced\Folder\Hidden\SHOWALL
4.Look at the CheckedValue key( in right side).This should be a DWORD key. If it isn't, delete the key. Create a new key called "CheckedValue" as a DWORD (hexadecimal) with a value of 1.
5. now u open the hidden file and folder.
